YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE

Stone Door Yoga Retreat will hold its popular Yoga teacher Training Course this spring. The 600 hour course will be given in two parts (300 hours each) to more closely reflect Yoga Alliance registration levels. The two parts can be taken together back to back, or separately. Students will be awarded a certificate upon completion of each part. The first part is offered as a weekend residential course. The second part includes a two week residential period for a more complete experience of yogic life. The Yoga Retreat is located in the historic district of Beersheba Springs near the 14,000+ acre wilderness at Stone Door. The clean air of "the mountain" and the traditional ashram environment make it an ideal place to practice  yoga.

8 weekends (Arrive Fridays before 7:30)

Exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements for 200 hour Yoga Teacher registration

Daily Schedule

5:30  wake up 12:00 Lecture I (Bhagavad Gita, chanting, Sanskrit)
6:00 Satsang (meditation, kirtan, , talk or reading) 2:00 Lecture II (yoga philosophy,  anatomy, physiology)       
8:00 Asana/Pranayama 4:00Asana/Pranayama (teaching practice/ method)
10:00 Vegetarian Brunch 6:00 Vegetarian Dinner
10:45 Karma Yoga 8:00 Satsang (meditation, kirtan,  talk or reading)

Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course (Part II

                    16 Days plus 2 weekends (Arrive Fridays before 7:30)

300 Hours  advanced training

                    Exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements for 500 hour registration

                    (entire course Part I and II)

4:30 wake up 12:00 Lecture I (yoga sutra raja yoga, Sanskrit, bhakti yoga)
5:00 Advanced Pranayama (bandha, mudra, kriyas) 2:00 Lecture II (yoga philosophy, Vedanta, anatomy)
6:00 Satsang (meditation, kirtan,  talk or reading) 4:00 Asana/Pranayama (teaching method/practice)
8:00 Asana 6:00 Vegetarian Dinner
10:00 Vegetarian Brunch Study Time
10:45 Karma Yoga 8:00  Satsang (meditation, kirtan , talk or reading)

Accommodation

Camping is free—bring your own tent, sleeping bag, etc.

Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga by Swami Vishnudevananda

Bhagavad Gita  with commentary by Swami Sivananda

Yoga Mind and Body (recommended)

Meditation and Mantras by Swami Vishnudevananda ( for Part II)

Texts available at Stone Door Yoga Retreat, most Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, and many bookstores

Registration

Complete an application (available from Stone Door Yoga Retreat or printed from yogadoor.com website) and send with non-refundable deposit of $300. Balance due on commencement of course.

Ashram rules

In order to help maintain  a pure and spiritual ashram environment please  attend all Satsangs and Asana classes, no rock, rap, or loud music. Dress modestly. No meat, fish, fowl, eggs, onions, garlic, narcotics, alcohol, or  tobacco. Treat all with respect.
